Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News
The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been intense.
The first season introduces a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.
The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.
That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a few fans create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
